Detroit/St. John's almost had an amazing finish. (spoilers)

St. John's was ahead by 5 with 6.8 seconds left. Detroit had no timeouts. One of their players drove down for a largely uncontested layup with 2.0 seconds left. The ensuing inbounds pass was deflected. To the shock of everyone on the court, Detroit wound up with the ball 25 feet from the basket with 1.3 seconds left. Because the ball had been touched already, the clock was counting. So the player launched from where he was standing and shot an air ball. If that had gone in, the game would have gone to OT.

The whole situation happened in real time so the players and coaches were too stunned to react.
