If you got a scanner or an all-in-one do a reinstall with the disks that came with it.

Twain is a program (with it's own driver) that pulls an image out of a device using the raw data and deposits it into a computer editing program in a usable form, like a .jpg or .bmp. All of my cameras use Twain, and I use Picasa, the lite freebee version of Photoshop and sometimes Windows photo editor. If it's not on your install disks, go to your scanner's website and look for it.
