Per B2: Unions are still in the mindset that company's use the "take what we give you or we will close" as a negotiatiing ploy

but in today's economy it is more a reality that a marketing ploy.

Same thing happened to the pulp and paper mill in my home town a couple years ago.

Company said they needed significant cuts or would close, Union called their "bluff", company closed up shop.

It is much more than just a contract negotiating ploy in today's world.

But I do agree with Krusty on one part, most reports I've read have no comment from the Union, someone needs to get their side reported just to see their thought process.
