ST Opinion Request: Dealing with nosy co-workers

The talk of children has been coming up a lot in my office. Several people have returned from maternity leave and several others are due next year.
In passing down the hall one day, somebody asked me how many kids my wife and I are planning to have. I responded, "Probably none, but you never know." (We're both in our early 30's)
After this, one of my co-workers responds with, "REAAAAAAAALLY? That's just not right!"
I was correct in rolling my eyes and ignoring her, right? I couldn't believe she said that.
