It's none of their business.
They have no idea whether you want children but can't have them; whether you don't want to have any; whether there are a variety of other issues that might prevent you from being parents.
Not only is it inappropriate, it's a hurtful thing to say to people who might want children but for whatever reason don't have any yet.
