Fans..didn't mind the steroid era. And in the last decade, like 80% of the teams have hit the playoffs.

the only hold out in the AL East are the blue jays, in the central, it's the Royals, in the west, the mariners (and they did it 3-4 tiems in the late 90's)
in the NL east, they all have, in the central, the pirates suck, in the west, they've all had moments.
and let's be honest, the Orioles/Pirates and Royals suck as franchises becuase of shitty personnel choices.
Does it suck that the Yanks can do X, Y & Z .. sure, but they also have the ability to make good personnel choices to beat them.
The NFL -- there's more teams that haven't gotten to the playoffs, and that's with a more readily accessible format. 12/32 instead of 8/30(10/30 now)
