about how it's never about the money. It's about being on a team that is capable of winning every season. We signed Matt Holliday to a stupid contract, because Albert wanted us to.

Everything this organization did was according to his specifications. And then when it all came down and we had $200+mil on the table...whattaya know? It did turn out to be the money.

And I can respect a guy who just comes out and says "Look, this is my last contract, I want the best deal for me and my family."
