with twinkies, I think a lack of innovation is actually pretty fair.

everyone's trying to cram one more salty treat into America's already bloated snack hole. granted coke hasn't changed much in 100 years, but if you want a sugary carbonated beverage, there's not a lot of roads to go down. if you want a sweet baked good, the world is your oyster. cupcake shops, bakeries, donut places, things like that are all more prevalent than they were 15 years ago (and for the most part making a better product). twinkies haven't changed. not changing isn't a problem until the market changes.
