This is a FB post (RIP Hostess) from a local developer (member of the social group here) blaming the unions for the demise

So sad. When I had my 4 carburetor shops, union reps came in to my business telling me they had the right to recruit my employees. I told my employees... "It's the American Way. If I want to keep good employees, I offer them whatever is possible to make them happy. If I'm forced to give more than that, I'll be closing my doors." The unions have insisted that US workers get the most possible pay for the least possible work... then we wonder why so much work is being outsourced to other countrys... why hard working immigrants with strong work ethics are coming in and taking our jobs. Granted, unions do have their benefits... but when I see another American Icon forced out of buisness... 17,000 jobs lost... because of a union's unreasonable demands, I get upset. Maybe the Hostess name will survive if a foreign country buys it.
