Just called KitchenAid customer service to see what they could do for me re: my 2 yr old broken mixer.

It looks like they can't do anything for me that doesn't involve lots of fees ($35 shipping fee; $25 diagnostic fee; repair fee). Nothing is covered since the mixer's 1 yr warranty has expired. Boooo.

My favorite part of the conversation is when she gave me the option to purchase a refurb mixer rather then get my current one fixed (why I'd buy a new mixer to replace a 2 yr old *$400* mixer is silly), then tried selling me accessories. "Do you need a meat grinder? A pasta maker? All accessories are 20% off!" "I don't know why I'd need to buy accessories for a mixer that isn't even working."

Again - booooo.
