Back from my conference. Saw Dick Cheney speak there. Let me just say that I have now seen the face of evil.

Actually for a pretty heavily republican crowd (I'd say about 4:1 as a guess), he was not well received. He was stuck in the past still justifying Iraq (still claiming they found "evidence" of WMD's) and saying we should still be in Iraq because it's necessary to protect us from al queda. He was also slamming Obama in ways that you would hear from Rush Limbaugh (rather than what you usually hear from people formerly in these positions, which is some deference to understanding how hard the job is, even if you don't agree on positions). In a discussion with one of my partner's who is a republican and was thrilled to see GWB speak at this conference 2 years ago, we agreed that Cheney is basically a mean old man. It was kind of pathetic.
