In response to "canadian broadcasting requires a specific amount of canadian originated content, OTOH, they refused Fox news a license because they are not in fact" by Zirak Galeistur

This really made me laugh. So they really didn't research the "free speech" laws in Canada at all, did they.

As for Canadian originated content, quite a few of our direTv channels use a lot. I'm betting half the Nat Geo, Nat Geo Wild, Discovery (in all its incarnations), Syfy and especially Chiller and Cloo networks have a lot of CBC material. In fact, yesterday Chiller Channel (all scary shows and movies) had an all day long marathon of Forever Knight. BBC America is about 75% joint ventures of BBC and CBC. Oh and the 2 new series on Cinemax, Strike Back and Hunted are joint CBC and Cinemax productions.

So do they show those channels up there?
