Not really the same, but similar, we used to have an event here called "Guerilla Gay Bar."

Once a month on a pre-set date everybody on a list serve (mainly gays and friends) would be e-mailed a straight bar to show up and essentially take it over. people would be dancing and drinking like nothing was out of place (in reality there really wasn't, but guys dancing together freaked some out). Basically all these straight people would enter a straight club, and reactions would be pretty funny. Some stayed, some left.
They stopped it after two years or so, but some bars went with it and were awesome. There were definitely a few that really hated it, and they would get slammed by negative press.
