Talking Dead Punk/Merle spoilerish stuff.

I can understand Punk's line of reasoning some.

Merle was left on a rooftop with walkers closing in. So in his mind they left him to a likely violent death. He instead managed to survive by cutting off his hand, escaping, and being found by someone from Woodbury. He's a pretty unlikeable guy, and he doesn't like other people much either. The possible exception to that is his brother Darryl. He finds out that his brother is still alive, and close, and the same people who abandoned him to a violent death won't take him to see his brother? From his point of view, killing them is justifiable. He's a horrible person, and he surely deserves to die. But he does have some justification for what he did. Just because Glenn is awesome, and was doing the smart (and right) thing, doesn't mean Rick's group is immune from the repercussions of what happened with Merle.
