we were at my cousin's place. They have a springer spaniel.
My cousin's place has some wild life roaming around...geese, coyotes, etc
Well...a not smallish deer wanders in the yard. We all spied him from the kitchen and breakfast nook. The dog knew something was up but we kept him away from places he could see out until it was decided not only to let him see but to let him out.
I opened the sliding door to the edge of the front yard...he leapt out...sort of turning as he fell. Once he hit the ground and got his back legs and hips pointed in the direction of the deer he took off like a rocket powered cheetah. He was a blurr of brown and white.
Luckily the deer was faster as the deer would have messed him up.
