The biggest thing I learned is to look at the radar every 2 seconds and keep an eye out for the red dots.

The better you get at paying attention to the better you'll be at the game. It'll keep you alerted to whomever is in the area that you should be avoiding or going after to kill.
If the red dot is very big then it means that the other player is in a vehicle of some kind.
The dick-measuring is something that would happen no matter what game we were playing. Just laugh and make fun of us. :-)
