i would definitely try harder to salvage a marriage than, say, 10 years ago, and definitely if i had kids with that person

but if things weren't working, i don't think i could power through. i just have a hard time fathoming years and years of unhappiness because that asshat undermined our entire relationship. life is short, you know? i'm more selfish than some, i guess.
