Right, but that was the initial diagnosis, right? She wanted to take a break from school after the surgery so she could help take care of Christina and her siblings, which Christina and Adam didn't want her to do. So when they went to the doctor after the surgery and were told the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes and she'd need to undergo chemo and radiation, they lied to Hattie and told her Christina got a clean bill of health, so she'd go back to school.
