Based on BBs I think the speculation that the ship is showing serious wear and tear is a good one.

But, if I may, I also like the idea that Cylon Tyrol may have discovered sabotage courtesy of Cylon engineers that placed the Cylon technology FTLs on Galactica. Granted the Cylon engineers were probably being watched over but after the mutiny that in part occurred over the Cylon FTLs technology, I think it is interesting that sme of the supposed alliance Cylons may be trying to sabotage human ships as well.
