I posted a couple of days ago that I wanted to get rid of the guns we have. I called police in two jurisdictions, the ATF and the State police.

None of them wanted the guns and the only advice I got was to find a gunsmith who might be willing to destroy them if I asked nicely, but probably not.
How fucked up is it that four different law enforcement agencies at 3 different levels of government have no mechanism in place for taking guns out of the system from people willingly giving them up?
