ABC is partly to blame with the timeslot they gave it.

Both shows followed Modern Family. They paired them up and moved them opposite New Girl. That also put them opposite Go On, which ABC probably didn't know or care about when they made the decision. NBC sneaked Go On during the Olympics, and I think it got about 16 million viewers. It has stayed pretty strong.

And those are just the network comedies. It's a tough slot, and I wish they would have considered moving them. Maybe the Sunday episodes are an attempt to do that, but that's a bad spot as well. Among other reasons, Revenge doesn't seem to be a good lead-in for sitcoms.
