so why is it not your job to teach your kid to avoid guns? if my kid came to your house and touched the oven and got burned, is that my fault

Guns have much easier, much more serious potential consequences than almost anything else.

I don't think anyone's saying kids shouldn't be taught. But we're also saying we don't want our kids in the situation where they might confront it
