Last Christmas, our middle son overdosed on hallucinogens, which led to a psychotic break. We made it through the actual Christmas Day with great tension, but ended up in the hospital emergency room on New Year's.

This year, every day I wake up and he's not delusional or high, has been a little bit of a breath of relief. We are terrified he's going to do something foolish on these horrific anniversaries.

Adult kids and their bad choices are *hard*. It's probably one reason I enjoyed the cathartic crying at Les Mis last night.
