I still wish there was a way to go back to a more (i think its called) federalistic government....

In that each state gets a portion of the federal money based on population and infrastructure size and they run and do what they need to with that limited budget which they can supplement with state taxes but remove the ability to get more money from the federal - a straight formula and just elimiate lobbying etc. The fed keeping only te money needed to run federal things like SS, defense etc.
I think we used to run this way at one point. I would prefer to see federal law makers be more concerned about laws and the people and less about money grabbing for their state.
I know this is a simple view but not enough room to really ramble about it but I would rather see a system like this and then each state is accountable directlty to the people who live there and have the people spending the money more directly connected to the people they are supposed to be representing.
I doubt anything will really work until you could eliminate greed and self interest in govt service
