I was shocked when my daughter asked for a record player for Hannukah. I got her one and I have to say I miss the ritual of the vinyl LP. Taking it

out, holding on the edges so as not to smudge it. Cleaning off the dust. Carefully placing the needle. It was very cool for her to experience that. And the funny thing was she was kind of blown away by the technology. That it was a computer file. "How does the sound come out of there like that?"
