your wall)
We have our TV sitting on the entertainment center. I read a blog post last night from a woman who lost her 3 yr old 8 yrs ago when her small dresser toppled over onto her. It was *heartbreaking*. Nothing in this house is secured, but you can bet that now it will be. There isn't much choice when securing furniture to the wall, but there seems to be some choice about securing TVs.
One option is to buy something that holds the back of the TV to the wall with some sort of rod. Another option is earthquake straps, which can be put on the wall, but can also be attached to the entertainment system itself. Have you tried any of these? What did you like/dislike about them?
Thanks.

Flatscreens were before my kids were grown. My kids never really climbed on things though.

i would think a simple strap would be fine for the tv, if it works for bookcases and the like. -- nm

There are lots of stories of these things. I would recommend them. Any reason you wouldn't just mount it on the wall? -- nm
