the US army is acting like an international police force in Iraq - the country ought to pay them as such

Nevermind the impropriety of the fact that they stirred up the shitstorm in the first place, or the fact that everyone who said they just went in for the oil/money would be proven right ... it's the only course of action that makes sense to the American public (who could be referred to as the stockholders of America, especially as they demand a better "return" on their "investment").
