Tim

Played G/B ThragRats which is by far the most cohesive version I've fooled around with.

1st round beat up on UWR Flash. Made my first very keen observation that Thundermaw was going to be the Creature of the Day. Fortunately I've got Thragtusk, Disciple of Bolas, Deathrite Shamen, and my best tech Tribute to Hunger to keep me flowing in the life.

2nd round was destroyed by the never quite dead R/B Zombies. It's just too fast, they just keep coming back, and my sideboard wasn't ready.

3rd round beat R/B Aggro. Amusingly enough it's not as "Aggro" as Zombies so I can stabilize, take out Hellkites, and smack them back.

4th round beat R/B Aggro again. It was likely an identical card list. In this round I hardcast Grislebrand, pay 7, draw 7, next turn hardcast Revenge of the Hunted on Gristlebrand FTW.

So by this point the people I know at this 90+ people tourney are starting to get riled up. They still don't think I'm any good, and they've mostly already become what they call 0-3 Beer.

Their bad juju drug me down. 5th round defeated soundly by Jund. (Why is it called that when it has NO characteristics of Jund other than color?)

So 3-2, I decide to stick out one more round just to "make sure" I can't squeak into top 12 prizes. But am soundly re-defeated by Jund.

I call it a day at 3-3. And while I didn't win a damn thing, spent far too much money heading cross town for this plus StarCity high entry fee, I think I did really well.
