but I'm not sure I can actively boost my "Assist" rank for example by changing my gameplay and be effective unless I just wanted to go around hitting various players once or twice hoping someone else will kill them :)

It's random, but I've found that the Storm Rifle is basically an "assist gun". I can rarely kill eanyone with it, but iin oddball I rack assists. -- nm - volnelk Jan 18, 06:33
