Had a hankering for broasted chicken so came up to visit Der Dutchman in Plain City. Seems as if everyone else had the same hankering because there was a 30 minute wait. While we waited we did our bakery shopping. Glad we did it before dinner because after dinner there were no fritters left. Just had a delicious blueberry fritter. Also picked up some garlic knockwurst, a ring of trail bologna, a blueberry pie and some chocolate peanut butter cookies. I just wish this place wasn't 2 hours from home. Fortunately, I had enough points to score a free room at the Hyatt Place. Also won $36 at the Hollywood casino. That means this little overnight has only cost me gas and bakery money. Tomorrow we're going to explore the German Village south of downtown Columbus. We've only been to Schmidt's Restaurant in the Village before now. Going to check out a German deli & bakery (for bread). Supposedly, America's Got Talent is in town this weekend for auditions so I'm staying away from the convention center. Not much else happening in Columbus this weekend (or most other weekends). But my tummy's full of chicken and fritters so all is good.
