OMG, the BBC's Sherlock is *awesome*. Just saw my first episode. Spoilers

The constant gay undertones rival those in the RDJ movies. The Seinfeld "not that there's anything wrong with that" moments are humorous.

I'll admit I had my suspicions that the "arch enemy" was Mycroft. By the time he showed up at the end, I knew.

Giving us a damaged Dr. Watson is very clever.

I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy the premise of a modern Sherlock Holmes. I wondered how they'd work modern technology into the concept. Instead of pitting Sherlock against the technology, though (i.e. "Computers! They can't solve a crime!"), he uses the technology while still successfully leveraging deductive reasoning. Excellent writing. I'm frankly shocked given that Dr. Who's Stephen Moffett wrote it.
