Also, we need real affordable housing for families or for more than one person. This isn't enough or the answer to our housing shortage.

Where are the one, two and three bedroom affordable apartments for working class families?
I live in the perfect neighborhood for where that type of housing should have been built but all we got was market rate apartments which are only affordable to the upper middle class and higher. The 1bd rooms start at $640k.
The entire waterfront on my side of the East River was undeveloped land that was formerly industrial land. The city was planning to build the Olympic village here if NYC had won the bid and then turn that housing into affordable apartments and homes after the games.
We never got the games and so we never got the housing. Developers jumped in and built up expensive housing. Just what this city doesn't need.
