That's not the kind of behavior that's likely very easily resolved. Let's get to it.

Are there any other browsers on the computer? Can you open Chrome or Firefox on that computer and navigate to those web sites?
Yes? Then IE is buggy (or compromised in *perhaps* a malicious way).
No? Then the entire computer is compromised, likely in a malicious way.
Next... can you backup the QB database to an external device (DVD, thumbdrive, cloud service, etc.)? If so, do it *NOW*. Rescue your data before it's too late.
Next... install QB on another computer, recover your database, and replicate the process you've been trying to accomplish.
Success? Then format your secretary's computer. Burn the mother. It's got a virus. Rather than scorched earth, you can try to clean it, but given that you do accounting and legal stuff on it, I'd recommend scorched earth.
