when I was in the middle of some game or project and she'd come home and it was expected to immediately drop what I was doing. It wasn't hard to resolve by just asking her to text me when she's leaving so I could extract myself from whatever it was without begrudging her. I also understood though that what it boiled down to was that she valued time together with me and when it was available, I should take it and not be a dick
