In response to "Dude, when the thaw happens I don't want to be you. leave the cold on, and open all your cabinets. Turn up the heat in the house" by Bacon

should be ok IF the rest of the pipe is insulated/protected inside, then ice has space to back up

We had this happen as the pipes run through outside wall with no insulation,

Next chill, open cabinettes and leave a slight drip in the water faucet and or put a space heater under for the night.

We had to break the wall board behind washer to access and wrap the pipe there.

Check the pipe as it thaws, keep a tub under, if it leaks you could fix yourself, plumbers would cost a couple hundred

Though i'd look under the house, is there a crawl space? Thats where the big trouble is found, we're lucky with a full heated basement.

Don't wait till your water bill to find a problem
