Looks like it made it to 2009 which was a couple years after it ceased to be relevant.

A print magazine had to be in so far in advance that it rarely captured price changes in a timely fashion. A tournament happens and the top decks use multiple copies of a card that many thought to be unplayable and it shoots from $1 to $15 or more in a weekend. That's an extreme case but it's certainly happened. I picked up a card I thought was nifty for $3 each back in June and it's currently $20, for instance.
