In response to "53% of Americans think that the federal government threatens their own personal rights -- (link)" by ty97

paraphrase of a commentary on WTOP today: "Gun advocates used to take on the Founding Fathers argument, which said that we need guns to prevent

a federal tyranny. But if that's the case, shouldn't gun advocates be arguing that they need to match the federal military gun for gun, bomb for bomb, tank for tank? Even the head of the NRA has conceded that that's not reasonable. But even after the NRA suggested adding armed cops to every school, Lindsey Graham has cautioned states to expect less money for law enforcement. Graham said that he'd be better off armed with an AR-15 than waiting for law enforcement to arrive and help.

So they've gone from an anti-tyranny argument to expecting the government to provide more protection to emasculating the government and turning our guns on each other. When did we become Libya?"
