I saw them offered on hors d'oeurves menus some years ago, for pass-arounds. it amused me because

way back when I first was going to try sushi, I read a list of dos and don't for it, and one was to never eat it by putting, say, a chopstick through a piece because it's some kind of insult.
the lollipops are just this side of that. sure is less messy than fingers, though!
