It makes me sad to hear about/talk to my grandparents lately, and see how much they have changed since I was a kid.
My grandmother has had pain issues (due to a botched surgery) since I was an infant. 30+ yrs of (necessary) painkillers, plus health problems that have resulted from that surgery, have really taken a toll on her. She is sorta losing her mind. My grandmother (who is...67? certainly not elderly) believes that there is a man living in her computer, who is stealing her information and selling it to others. We have tried explaining to her about auto-fill, the privacy 'eye' icon, etc. - but she believes that the eye icon is a man watching her. Yet, she'll get a scam email and will attempt to send this person money. *sigh*
My grandfather, after years of taking care of my grandmother (who is pretty much confined to the house), is getting closer and closer to death's door. Right now he's 6'4" and, from what I was last told, maybe pushing 100 lbs. He is literally skin and bones. His heart is starting to go haywire, and his blood pressure is so low that he keeps fainting. Last time he fainted it was outside on the pavement, and he hurt himself pretty bad.
They refuse all help from their children/neighbors/others.
This makes me so sad.
