is that eventually it's revealed that more or less everyone is "involved" somehow. I feel like by establishing the idea of long term plants like the gay couple, they can flip the switch at any time on anyone and say they were involved. Especially because not everyone apparently in the cult is aware of the actions and motivations of others.

I think one of the bigger reveals is going to be the younger FBI guy. He followed Kevin Bacon research, was giving the initial presentation when he showed up, he wants to work with him, etc. Last night he was trying to talk to Bacon about his own personal life, etc.

I think he is going to be revealed as the guy that becomes the new Kevin Bacon character at the end of this "Story".
