I set up a calendar specifically for daily reminders. In the case of genealogy, it's "add today's SSDI data to my file" repeating every day at 10:30. When I complete that task, I delete if from the calendar, so if I forget to do it for a few days, I can go back to the calendar and see exactly which day's work I have backlogged.
