I'll second Reagen and say that Google Calendar coupled with GMail is a boon to those who love to stay organized

GMail labels are about a bazillion times better than folders. And you can set up rules to have labels applied automatically.

I set up tasks on my Calendar, have reminders sent to my GMail and have GMail label them as they come in. So tasks involving pets get one label, involving my daughter another, involving household chores yet another.

I have 2 calendars, one for me and one I manage for my daughter's events. Both shared with my wife. My wife has her own calendar that is shared back with me. So all 3 family members show up on my calendar, each using a different color.
