Your work and your injuried co-worker will figure it out.
What should have been my first March Madness trip, I ended up canceling the Monday after selection Sunday. Something that had been planned since the start of the year but the previous Thursday, the one other person in our domastic sales dept quit. I'd only been here for a couple of years so I felt obligated to pitch in
In hindsight, it would have only been two days and there while it would have only been the domestic sales manager, there would have been other folks from the international side of thing. They would have made do.
Your trip is far more involved and deserved. Actually it is arguably a once in a lifetime event.

no worries. it's just a week or so, it was planned well in advance, there's nothing urgent in the mix (right?). no guilt! -- nm

They could get her a low-level temp who could life & carry, and take dictation. Wouldn't have to think, just follow directions. -- nm
