Huh? Never seen that...although we have had serving delays because they 'had to heat the water' :/

Generally they bring a mug and an individual pot of hot water. They'll maybe ask if you'd like more water, and - rarely - provide extra teabags. And you need to ask for creamer if there's none on the table for the coffee drinkers. Tea service usually comes with honey and a lemon slice.
