I had that happen at Safeway recently. the clerk ended-up just giving me $10, as it saved her work vs. my adding something else to go over.

I'd missed that I had multiple discounts for a couple of things via their online add-coupons-to-your loyalty card thing.
I'm sure people use spreadsheets for it, because there can be 5 or 6 different ways to save. it gets silly.
