Letters are dead. Packages are the one area USPS has seen some success and a glimmer of hope.

There isn't a competing service and I see value in being able to send a letter anywhere in the US for less than $0.50.

exactly. if someone needs a letter from grandma that bad they can pay $15. If they want to spend a $1 they get delivery 2-3 times a week -- nm
