I still can't quite comprehend the scale and speed of it to have caused all those deaths. When we get big fires up here, we can usually evac in time

I mean, the fires must be going VERY fast. Crazyfast. Is it all just dry brush that is burning?

It's a mix between the types of trees in the forest (eucalypts tend to explode) and the unpredictable weather
