Mel Profit has won Valentine's Day 2013.

We have posted about this duo of violinists who busk in the subway stations and how much we like their work. Mel contacted them thru FB and arranged for them to serenade me this morning at South Station. Mel had asked what I would like to hear them play earlier in the week so I thought something might be up. I mentioned Prince but had trouble nailing down which tune I wanted to hear.

That didn't stop Mel.

My favorite winter hat is this shaggy, brassy deep mauve number that looks a little crazy but I just tell myself it's Fashion cuz I like it and it's warm and colorful.

The jig was up when Mel decided to get off at South Station with me this morning on the way into work. :) [he normally gets off at Park Street.] The buskers were there and we walked over, me in my hat. They played a lovely sweet version of 'Raspberry Beret'. It was perfect. We danced and clapped along. I haven't stopped smiling yet.

Turns out the kids didn't even know the song before Mel asked them to play it. They practiced yesterday for 2 hours to get it right and they did an excellent job.

It really was the perfect Valentine's Day gift. Mel wins.
