LIR Poll: Second year of college, I saw Ray Manzarek of the Doors at Brentano's Bookstore in Century City

I was on lunch break from my part time office clrek gig. I'm pretty sure I followed him around for a while before walking up to him. I said "Hi, are you..." He smiled reached out his hand to shake mine and said "Yes I am." I said "I love the Doors" or something like that, and he said "Surely you like the Beatles better?" I said "Oh no, I like you guys better."

I asked for an autograph and he obliged. I framed it and kept it around for years. This was during the height of my like for this band, so I was nervous.

I've seen plenty of minor celebrities, but he is the only one I've ever tried to talk to.
