There are certainly some people within the primary subset that dislike him just because of his skin color bar everything else (even if they agree with him on most things) but I don't think that is a majority that would disqualify him just like being Mormon didn't turn the supposedly Protestant-supporting-only Tea Party against him. If Rubio seems electable and palatable, I don't see (most) of the base turning on him for being Latino.
